On desktop, your notes are normal Markdown files in a folder on your device. Ariv works around them. It does not turn them into a proprietary database.

Infrastructure we run
Ariv Sync and managed AI cost money because servers, storage, and model usage cost money. They are conveniences, not unlock keys for the app.
