Daily notes
Open today’s note and start writing. Your daily record is ready without rebuilding the routine each morning.
Ariv is a local-first Markdown notes app with the everyday parts already built in. This is the longer look at what it does, what happens automatically, and what stays under your control.
You wanted the longer version. Here it is.
You can open Ariv and start. There is no plugin list to research and no template pack you need before the app becomes useful.
Open today’s note and start writing. Your daily record is ready without rebuilding the routine each morning.
Track Markdown checkboxes in focused task views, then use boards when a project needs columns and movement.
See dated work and notes in context instead of keeping your schedule and your thinking in separate worlds.
Catch a thought from anywhere on your computer before deciding where it belongs.
Map ideas visually when a list is not enough. Canvases live beside the rest of your notes.
Search titles, note content, and tags from one place. An imperfect filing system does not make old work disappear.
Use wikilinks, backlinks, unlinked mentions, and a graph view without adding a plugin.
Bring current notes, open tasks, captures, calendar context, and boards into one place to begin the day.
Ariv uses recent activity to keep current work visible and let older work recede. You do not have to keep deciding what should be archived.
Quick captures and half-formed thoughts get a safe place before you decide what they are.
Recently edited notes and unfinished work remain visible while they still matter.
Older notes leave the foreground on their own, but stay searchable, linkable, and ready to return.
On desktop, your notes are normal Markdown files in a folder on your device. Ariv works around them. It does not turn them into a proprietary database.
Notes, tasks, calendar, Kanban, capture, and ordinary search work without AI. If you want semantic search, Ask Brain, or AI-assisted tagging, choose how it runs.
Use a local model on your own hardware. Your AI requests stay on the device.
Connect a supported provider and pay that provider directly. Ariv does not add a markup.
Sign in and let Ariv handle the model connection. It is there for convenience, not required for the AI features.
Turn AI off and Ariv remains a complete notes and task app.
Mac and Windows give you the full workspace. Android keeps notes, tasks, captures, attachments, and voice memos within reach away from your desk.
Write, review, search, map ideas, and manage the local Markdown folder on your Mac.
Download for Mac →Use the same full local-first workspace on Windows.
Download for Windows →Capture and carry the parts of your workspace you need when you are moving.
Get it on Google Play →No feature in the local app is gated behind a paywall. You pay Ariv only when you want us to run infrastructure for you.
Daily notes, tasks, calendar, Kanban, canvas, capture, search, graph, local AI, and bring-your-own-key AI. No account is required for local use.
Ariv Sync and managed AI cost money because servers, storage, and model usage cost money. They are conveniences, not unlock keys for the app.
Start with the free app. Add sync or managed AI later only if they make your life easier.
