What is a second brain app?
A second brain app is a personal knowledge system for capturing ideas, notes and tasks, then finding them when they become useful. Ariv combines capture, organization, retrieval and task management in one app.
Is Ariv available on Android?
Yes. Ariv is available on Google Play for Android. Mac and Windows desktop apps are also available.
Do I need an account to use Ariv?
No. You can use the core app without creating an account. Optional managed sync and AI services require an account.
Does Ariv work with existing Markdown notes?
Yes. On desktop, Ariv can open an existing folder of Markdown files without importing, converting or moving them.
Is AI required?
No. Notes, tasks, capture, search and the rest of the core app work without AI. AI can be enabled with a local model, your own API key or Ariv's managed service.
Is Ariv free?
The complete core app is free. Encrypted sync and managed AI are optional paid services because they require hosted infrastructure.
